Windows Systems Administrator

Jagex Ltd, the UK’s leading independent online games studio, is looking for an experienced and technically gifted Windows systems administrator. With plans to significantly expand its technological infrastructure, Jagex is now looking to add to its Systems Administration team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding IT professional, with previous experience in managing large, online, Windows-based web systems and an in-depth knowledge of network security, to forge an exciting career within a technologically innovative business.

Key duties include:

• Maintaining remote and locally hosted Linux and Windows servers;
• Working closely with hosting companies to ensure smooth running of remotely hosted operations;
• Working closely with the IT Manager to design and implement solutions to a wide variety of systems administration problems.

Essential requirements:

• Highly experienced in managing Internet-facing web and/or gaming sites on IIS;
• Experience of working on high availability, high profile systems regularly receiving Internet-based attacks;
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies, with a strong understanding of IIS;
• Strong understanding of 3D graphics techniques;
• In-depth knowledge of networking, from LAN technologies to IP routing protocols;
• Practical working knowledge of Linux or Unix administration.

Also useful:

• Understanding of SAN concepts and management;
• Microsoft certification and/or other industry certifications (Cisco, EMC, Juniper);
• Experience of working to industry security standards such as PCIDSS.

Details:

Salary
£30k to £40k+, fully negotiable depending on experience, plus excellent benefits package including annual bonus, private health care, gym membership, and more.
