
We run a large, award winning university placement scheme, with many students taking part each year.
Working in our Player Support department, placement students are responsible for supporting and policing our in-game community; developing and maintaining strong relationships with our players and gaining feedback to help with future developments. You will be enrolled in our in-depth 4 week training course upon the start of your placement, followed by entry into the Player Support department. There are many opportunities for progression, through curator roles, projects and team movements.
All degree disciplines are welcome: we are looking for students with a passion for gaming, aiming to build a strong career in the gaming industry. A number of projects are run alongside the placement year to ensure you maximise your skills and experience. Our Mini Games Clinic provides seminars on games design and production, allowing you to pitch your own game ideas to Jagex! The ongoing Business Proposal Project also provides the opportunity to suggest a change or propose a new opportunity to the business itself.
We really do believe our Placement Scheme offers something fresh, unique and highly rewarding to all successful candidates. December 2009 to January 2010 – Applications received
February 2010 – Applications processed, successful candidates contacted. If you are not contacted by the end of February, please assume your application has been unsuccessful. Unfortunately, due to the extremely large volume of applications, we are unable to respond with detailed feedback if you are not successful at this stage.
March 2010 – Assessment days held for successful candidates
May to August 2010 – Placement schemes begin

In March 2008, Jagex was nominated for ‘Best Work Experience Provider’ in the National Council for Work Experience Awards. We were successfully selected as an awards finalist, reaching the top 7 short-listed companies from over 100 nominations! We were delighted to be recognised by the NCWE; offering the opportunity of work experience and allowing students to gain a greater understanding of the gaming industry is our primary goal.
The RateMyPlacement Top 20 Employers were announced in October 2008. Jagex were proud to be awarded 6th position from 350 employers. RateMyPlacement allows students that have been on placement to write their own reviews for future students looking to find a placement provider.
