Press Release
22 Aug 2024
Thursday 22 August 2024, Cambridge, UK. Jagex and Gamepires are excited to announce that a new update for open-world survival game SCUM has dropped onto the Island today, bringing highly-requested new features, returning content, and a variety of gameplay improvements.
Turn your eyes to the sky in the 0.945 Update with the introduction of the Dropship, an assault aircraft that launches deadly attacks against the base of top performing players and squads, providing a brand-new survival challenge to long-term players. Dropships will initially be available on a limited number of servers, giving players an opportunity to try out the new content before it gets rolled out across the game.
Hop back onto the Quad Vehicle, a returning all-terrain vehicle that’s back and better than ever with a new modular design, and add some personal flair to your base with the new Base Building Painting, a highly-requested feature that lets players decorate their base or apply colour strategically to create a camouflaged stronghold.
New to SCUM? The 0.945 Update introduces an improved early game experience, with a tweaked learning curve that allows for a better introduction to new players.
Key Features of the 0.945 SCUM Update:
Survive the Dropship – Available on private servers, the Dropship attacks from the skies with deadly accuracy, dropping an assault Sentry onto the bases of the top squads in each world and providing a new challenge for long-term SCUM players.
The Quad Vehicle is Back! – Back and better than ever, the return of the Quad Vehicle promises a fast way to escape deadly encounters and move swiftly across the Island.
